Daily backup checking
In a 3-2-1 system there are 2 backups on different locations. These are daily executed during the night and checked in the morning for succes. In case of failure, the reason is immediately detected and a cure organised.
Multiple versions of files are stored in the backup permitting to fall back on previous versions in case of ransomware attack or human error.

Attack logging
Daily attacks are observed. Machines all over the world (software robots or bots) are constantly trying usernames and password combinations to get into the system. Of course, a good password is essential, 2 factor authentication (2FA) is better, but more cumbersome.
Attacks = illegal account name and password combinations are logged and the IP of the attackermachine remembered and blocked.
